90 minutes of practical portfolio writing

This workshop goes section by section through your arts portfolio. Not theory, exactly what to write, how to structure it and the technical details that trip people up.

Part 1

Evidence mapping

  • What counts as awards, proof of appearances and media recognition
  • How to map your career against all three categories
  • Common evidence mistakes from rejection proformas
Part 2

Artistic CV

  • How the artistic CV differs from a standard CV
  • Which experience to include and what to leave out
  • Structure and ordering of sections
  • Common mistakes and how to avoid them
Part 3

Letters of support

  • What a strong letter of support looks like
  • The UK organisation and working relationship requirements
  • How to brief your referees
  • What each section of the letter must cover
  • Best practice for signatures on letters
  • Common referee letter mistakes from rejection proformas
Part 4

Personal statement

  • How to structure your personal statement
  • Tone and length
  • Whether you can use AI to write it
  • Real examples of strong and weak statements
Part 5

Technical details for evidence documents

  • File formats and page limits
  • How to present your proof of appearances, media and awards
  • Where supporting letters go
Part 6

Q&A

  • Open Q&A on portfolio writing questions
  • Questions submitted in advance are welcome
  • Portfolio writing and positioning only — not immigration advice

Built for arts and culture applicants

This workshop is specifically for the arts and culture route. If you are on the tech or research route, this workshop is not the right fit.

You are preparing your portfolio

You are working on your first Global Talent endorsement application and want to understand exactly what goes into each document.

You have been rejected before

You have a rejection proforma and want to understand what went wrong and how to build a stronger portfolio for resubmission.

You want to DIY your portfolio

You are confident writing your own documents but want the framework, structure and insider knowledge to do it well.

What this workshop does not cover

This is a portfolio writing and professional positioning workshop. It covers how to write and structure your endorsement documents, not immigration law or visa applications.

This workshop does not cover eligibility assessment, pathway selection, visa application submission or any other immigration matter. For immigration advice, always consult a qualified immigration lawyer or IAA-regulated adviser.

The Q&A section covers portfolio writing questions only. Immigration questions will not be answered.
